Emperor Percival Tachyon's army that rules the entire Polaris galaxy attacks the city of Metropolis, where Ratchet and Clank live, to kill Ratchet, since Tachyon's goal is to eliminate every last Lombax from the Polaris Galaxy and thus discover "The Secret Lombax" which is the weapon used to evaporate cragmites.
